LEVERKUSEN, GERMANY — German manufacturer Carcoustics is planning to start producing automotive parts at its new factory in Nováky, Slovakia.
Production at the plant, which is located in western Slovakia, is scheduled to begin in September 2013, the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) said in a press release. Under the plan, Carcoustics aims to create as much as 200 new jobs in Nováky by next year.
The production facility will supply polyurethane and aluminum components for thermal insulation to a number of automotive manufacturers, according to the press release.
Local newspaper SME reported that Carcoustics invested about �5m in setting up the new plant. The facility's two production halls have a combined floorspace of some 6,900 sq. m.
Set up in 1952 and headquartered in Leverkusen, Carcoustics operates 11 plants worldwide and has a workforce of about 1,400. In 2012, the German manufacturer posted revenues of about �250m, according to figures released by Carcoustics.
